Getting to know your Pulse
What is Pulse?
Pulse is the first thing you see when you log in to Heartsome. It's your personal overview: at a glance, you can see what's coming up, what needs your attention, and what's happening with your colleagues.
What's on Pulse?
- Coming up for you: This shows your next planned time off. Click the item to view the details or open the request.
- Your action items: Things that need your attention appear here — As an employee, you might see a reminder to complete your profile. As an HR admin or manager, you’ll also see leave requests from colleagues waiting for your review, plus actions related to onboarding or an employee’s departure. Click a to-do to go straight to it.
- Celebrations: Heartsome lets you know when a colleague has a birthday, so you can congratulate them.
- Who's away: A quick overview of colleagues who are absent today, including the reason (holiday, sick leave). Click "View calendar" in the left menu for the full overview.
What can you do from Pulse?
In the top right corner of the screen you'll find buttons to get started straight away:
- Request time off or Book time off: request time off without navigating anywhere else. For HR admins this button is called Book time off.
- Report sick: report yourself sick. Don't see this button? Then your company has turned off self-reporting.
- Hours: log your hours. You only see this button if your company uses hours tracking.
New account? Here's what you'll see when you first log in
If you've just created an account, a "Get started with Heartsome" checklist appears on Pulse. It guides you through the initial setup — from adding your company description to inviting your first colleague. You can close the checklist at any time using the X in the top right corner. Once all steps are completed, it disappears automatically.
