# Giving feedback in a review cycle

Learn what to do when you're taking part in a review cycle: filling in your self-assessment, inviting colleagues and giving feedback to others. At the end you'll see your own results.

#### Where do you find it?
Go to You → Reviews. At the top you'll see what you still need to do, for example "Complete your self-assessment for \[cycle]" or "Give feedback for \[name]". You also get an email as soon as a cycle starts.

#### Filling in your self-assessment
1. Click Start self-assessment.
2. Rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 5 for each question. If a question doesn't apply to you, choose Not applicable.
3. Fill in the open questions if you like.
4. Want to finish later? Click Save draft.
5. Done? Click Submit.

|| Note: once you've submitted, you can't change your answers.

#### Inviting colleagues
Does your company let employees pick their own peers? Then you'll see "Invite peer reviewers".
1. Click Select colleagues.
2. Choose the number of colleagues shown, for example between 3 and 5.
3. Confirm your choice.

Choose colleagues who know your work well and will give you honest feedback, not just the people you're closest to. You can't choose yourself or your own manager: your manager already gives feedback separately.

Invite your colleagues before the invitation deadline. If you're late, you can still do it. If you don't, your manager or HR can do it for you.
Do managers pick the peers? Then you don't need to do anything.

#### Giving feedback to others
Under "Feedback to give" you'll see who you need to give feedback to.
1. Click Give feedback.
2. Rate the colleague on a scale of 1 to 5 for each question. If you can't judge something well, choose Cannot assess. That's better than guessing.
3. Fill in the open questions. That's often where the most valuable feedback is.
4. Click Save draft or Submit.

At the top you'll see whether your feedback is anonymous ("Your feedback will be anonymous.") or whether your name is shown.
Are you a manager? Then you give manager feedback for each of your team members in the same way. If managers pick the peers, you also assign them via Your team → Reviews → Assign peers.

#### After the deadline
After the feedback deadline you can't submit feedback any more. Your manager then reviews all the feedback and shares the results with you.

#### Viewing your results
Once your manager has released your results, you get an email: "Your review results are ready". Go to You → Reviews and click View results. You'll see:
* your scores per topic, next to those from your peers and your manager;
* the written feedback;
* your manager's summary.

If the cycle is anonymous, you can't see which colleague said what. With fewer than 3 peer responses, you won't see the peer feedback, so it stays truly anonymous.
